Race report by Reno Savoya
This week I traveled to Czeck republic for famous Astra Nitrocross organized in Martin Bayer's backyard! All the team did a great job all week end to get the track in perfect conditions, between saw dust and brushes to clean the dust!

The week end started roughly as my friend and mechanic Jerome Treignier didn't get his luggage on the airport coveyor belt! He had to borrow Martin Bayer's car!

Friday went great as the weather was perfect! Nice sun and nice dust all over the track! With high speed and long jumps, the track was pretty rough, and except Xray cars, we saw a lot of drivers not finishing their practices or only on 3 wheels! I raced both electric and nitro classes, in order to get more track time and data on the tires.

Q1 was on Friday evening. I crashed too many times in electric and finished 2nd. In nitro I was on a good pace but I had electrical issues.

On Saturday, the forecast wasn't so optimistic! Clouds and rain occured a long part of the day and the track had to be maintained all the time by the organizers with saw dust and brushes.
I managed to TQ 2 rounds in Nitro in front of super fast Martin Bayer, getting the overall TQ!
In Electro, I took 2nd in Q2 and Q3 but didn't race Q4 as the conditions were super muddy. The rain could'nt stop after 5 so the organizers decided to cancel Q5.

As the track was rough and pretty hard to drive with high jumps, I opted for a longer camber link on the rear in order to make the car more stable at high speed. As the temperature was pretty low, I went down in front and center diffs, to 5-5-3. I was still using 6 holes 1,2mm pistons, which gave me goop grip and good kick on the jumps.

Weather was nice again on Sunday! We could attend a nice day of race! I didn't change anything on my cars for the finals and I was really confident, as the new Sweep tyre named "Double Action" offered me incredible grip and traction.

In Electro, I won A1 in front of Martin, then we fighted really close in order to get the final win. He finally got it and I finished 2nd. In Nitro, I won my semi and started first. The first 15minutes were intense as we were very close with Martin. I was pitting at 9 minutes and knew it could be an advantage at the end. Unfortunately, Martin flamed out after the big jump and I had to cruise alone to the finish lane! Not many cars finished the race as they broke, but every Xray did! Proving once again the reliability of Xray Luxury cars! In the main, we could count 6 XB9 and Xray sweeping the top 5! Really impressive!
